Third Boundary Space
The Third Boundary Space is a public company limited by guarantee which is established to be, and to continue as, a charity, advancing health and health promotion.
The objective of the Company, motivated by the Christian Faith, is to pursue the charitable purpose of promoting and prevention or the control of mental health diseases in human beings, with a focus on sufferers of mental health disease amongst (but not limited to) first-and second-generation migrant populations within Australia.
Philosophy
Third Boundary Space is a pioneering project-based, research-driven, and service delivery charity dedicated to advancing health and wellbeing for people facing mental health challenges, particularly among marginalized and migrant communities in Australia. What sets Third Boundary Space apart is its commitment to a holistic approach, bridging the gap between mental health diagnosis and genuine wellbeing by fostering collaboration between public health professionals, the faith community, and individuals with lived experience.
As a charity established and inspired by Christian values, Third Boundary Space operates as a public company limited by guarantee, maintaining a clear mission: to promote and prevent mental health diseases, focusing on communities that are often underserved. It achieves this mission by acting within three pillars: project-based initiatives, research-backed methods, and direct service delivery.
PROJECT-BASED INITIATIVES:
Third Boundary Space develops and implements innovative programs tailored to the diverse cultural and social needs of people affected by mental health conditions. Examples include structured support groups, community engagements, and unique outreach activities that create safe spaces for sharing, learning, and healing.
RESEARCH-BASED SOLUTIONS:
By integrating the latest evidence and practice from fields such as positive psychology, systems approaches, and intentional practice, Third Boundary Space ensures that its interventions are both scientifically robust and contextually relevant. The organization constantly reviews and adapts its services based on current research, focusing on co-creation and local empowerment.
HOLISTIC DRIVEN SERVICE DELIVERY:
At the core of Third Boundary Space’s service delivery are its faith-based peer support groups, affordable one-on-one coaching, specialized training for mental health facilitators, and practical courses for a wide range of groups—from teens and widows to parents and couples. These services are both in-person and online, ensuring accessibility for all, regardless of background, belief, or location. Resources such as videos, podcasts, and toolkits empower individuals with knowledge while a supportive online community offers ongoing connection and encouragement.
What truly distinguishes Third Boundary Space is its holistic and inclusive philosophy. By bringing together the expertise of health professionals, the compassion of faith leaders, and the lived experience of community members, the organization addresses not just the symptoms of mental health conditions, but the social, spiritual, and emotional dimensions that support true recovery and resilience.
Their work is underscored by a strong focus on reducing stigma, increasing awareness, and enabling individuals and families to move from hopelessness to hope—helping them live well in spite of diagnosis. Third Boundary Space stands as a beacon for how charity organizations can transform lives by uniting scientific rigor, compassionate care, and community empowerment in the pursuit of mental wellbeing.
